Courses Offered by IIIASA
UPSC EXAMINATION (IAS)
1 A full six months course on Public Administration, scientifically structured in three stages viz. (a) in depth learning, (b) consolidation & orientation and (c) test series.
2) A highly comprehensive and integrated coverage of ‘General studies’ as per the new syllabus of UPSC structured into five dedicated components. The duration of the course would be around seven months where depending on the nature of subject matter and its comparative significance, every component would at least need a month’s preparations and even more in some areas.
RAJASTHAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (RAS)
In accordance with the drastic changes incorporated in the syllabus of State Civil Services Examination by the Public service Commission ( complete elimination of optional subjects and corresponding expansion of General studies), the institute has restructured the entire course of preparation into Six well defined and distinguished components.

Introduction - Public Administration
The expression ‘Public administration’ has more than one dimension.
Firstly, as an activity it is concerned with organized collective effort
towards the accomplishment of some common objective like public
welfare, development and security etc.
Secondly, in terms of structure, it refer to the whole ensemble of institutions designed and established to carry out various activities of the state and relates to conceptual configuration of various positions of authority and responsibility (hierarchy), procedural rules and regulations, channels of communications etc.
Thirdly, Public administration can be viewed as subject of study or discipline like history,geography,political science ,sociology etc. As a subject it is concerned with the study of what, how and why of the whole government in action.
